How did the legend that started with the LG G3 end with the G8?

Ana sayfa / Technology

Do you remember the LG G3 model that everyone used or wanted to buy for a while? You probably first saw this device in the hands of a relative or friend. At that time, there was also the iPhone knock, that is, the feature of opening the phone with a double tap on the screen, which started with the G2. So what happened and this legend ended with the G8? Here are the details with the time machine in a moment…

Where did LG G8 make a mistake? Here is LG’s settlement period

The LG brand continued its technology journey, especially in Korea, with a serious rise. Although the G1 model released in this context did not attract attention in the first place, the brand, which reached the highest point with G2 and G3, continued these innovative movements with G5. We even saw the widespread use of the wake-up feature by touching the screen, which was not even available in Apple for a while, on LG phones.

The brand, which reached its greatest popularity with the G3 model, first revealed its premium perception and then its innovative attitude when it came to the G4 and G5. Especially the G5 model was a model that attracted the attention of many users with its modular structure. The brand’s journey continued as a period of decline after the G5 model and things completely broke down with the LG G8.

Meta and LG to develop affordable headset to rival Apple’s Vision Pro

Tech giant Meta is developing an affordable pair of glasses to rival Apple Vision Pro in collaboration with LG.

In fact, LG was a brand that started to lose in the first place because of brand perception. But things got worse afterwards. Because although the G8 was a flagship device, it was far behind the competition. Not counting the iPhone models, it did not compete well on the Android front.

The brand, which lagged behind in design, was too caught up in the notch perception that was trending with Apple at that time. The notched design, which is a trend in iOS devices, has never been a trend in Android devices because giant brands like Samsung were using only a small camera slot instead of a notch. This alienated people a little bit from the G8 model.

In addition, the G8, which competed with the Samsung Galaxy S10, lacked features that were standard in the flagship models of that period, such as the fingerprint reader embedded under the screen and the telephoto camera. However, the G8, which was not preferred due to its missing features along with the flagships whose prices were quite close, caused LG to lock the smartphone factory. However, there is still a very important point that should not be forgotten. LG is one of the world’s largest display panel manufacturers.

So if the brand wants, it can start the legend again by producing a smartphone and launching it again. There is no green light from the LG front on the subject for the moment.
